TL;DR

The goal of this proposal is to create a new brand identity for FreeRossDAO and generate a sustainable revenue stream by developing a custom auction site to sell NFTs created by Ross Ulbricht and other political prisoners.

DESCRIPTION

Brand Identity

FreeRossDAO needs an iconic brand identity that is closely aligned with the vibes of PleasrDAO as well as Ross Ulbricht’s personal philosophy of peace, love, and freedom.

  • PleasrDAO Brand Association: PleasrDAO played a pivotal role in founding and funding the FreeRossDAO and is one of the most impactful and well regarded DAOs in the web3 ecosystem. Creating a brand identity for FreeRossDAO that draws a clear visual connection with PleasrDAO will benefit our cause and community by associating us with an established, respected, and trusted brand. Basically, it's a smart play to make FreeRossDAO clearly look like a project launched by PleasrDAO.

  • Peace, Love, and Freedom: The vibes of FreeRossDAO’s branding should not be somber, serious, or sad. We believe our DAO's vibe should be all about associating positive emotions with Ross. Right now the public image of Ross we need to combat is that of a scary criminal mastermind. But Ross is the complete opposite of that. As a person, Ross is all about Peace, Love, and Freedom so these should be the pillars of our brand identity.

To create the new brand identity for FreeRossDAO we will work with PleasrDAO’s lead designer Spencer as well as with Tyler Stober, designer at Artizen, the design team at Linum Labs, and Mick Jay who has been an invaluable help with all brand and website related matters for FreeRossDAO. Deliverables will include logo, wordmark, lockup, brand colors and fonts, and other standard branding assets. And community input will be solicited and incorporated as the brand is developed.

Auction Site

We believe the main function of the FreeRossDAO website should be to generate revenue for the DAO by holding recurring NFT auctions of Ross Ulbricht’s artwork as well as the artwork of other political prisoners. We propose leveraging the upcoming Artizen protocol to build a custom auction site that will allow us to hold monthly donation drives for the FreeRossDAO and reward donors with limited edition NFTs, $FREE tokens, soulbound badges, and more. Specifically, FreeRossDAO.org will have the following functionality:

  • Donations: Users can donate via credit cards, ETH, or USDC

  • Leaderboard: When users donate they are displayed on a leaderboard.

  • NFTs: Each donation cycle will end with the NFT up for auction being awarded to the top donors.

  • Profiles: Users can access their profile page

  • Wallets: Users can check their USDC funds and NFTs in their wallet as well as top up their wallets

  • Soulbound Badges: Donors receive one soulbound NFT badge per donation cycle. The soulbound badge displays key stats about the donation cycle as well as stats specific to the donor's contribution. The soulbound badge is generative so each badge is a unique art object in and of itself.

  • $FREE Token Rewards: FreeRossDAO allocates a certain number of $FREE tokens to award donors for each donation cycle.

  • Referral Program: When a user invites friends who become donors via a unique referral link then the user is rewarded with bonus $FREE tokens.

MISSION ALIGNMENT

In order to free Ross Ulbricht our DAO needs a sustainable revenue stream and we believe our proposed auction site, reinforced with a strong brand identity, will help secure our financial future. This sustainable revenue stream will fund operations as well as help us promote Ross’s work with the world via regular auctions.

BUDGET & PAYOUT SCHEDULE

  • Total budget: $100,000 USDC
  • Payout Schedule: 25% each month for four months.
  • Allocation: $60,000 to Linum Labs, $30,000 to Tyler Stober, $10,000 for contingency

SUNSET DATE

December 31, 2022

SUCCESS METRIC

The new auction site for FreeRossDAO will generate $250,000 or more in donations before the sunset date of this proposal.

$FREE REWARD

$20,000 USD worth of $FREE shared among team members based on each person’s contributions as determined by the proposal lead, but with the expectation of the split being $10,000 of $FREE to Linum Labs, $5,000 of $FREE to Tyler Stober, and $5,000 to other contributors.
