Main Role Structure in The ALANA Project

Background

This vote only serves to make official what was already decided via a Discord poll last year here:

As with any decentralized community, ALANA also requires some organizational structure. Last year, Dani and I put a lot of work into crafting these initial role consolidations, resulting in the Nucleus Guardian, Nucleus Specialist, and Nucleus Apprentice. Lutra, Greyscale, Astroporcelain, and many others in the community took the time to review those proposals and ensure their value alignment. Now that our Snapshot space is in full action, we ask you to make them official with this vote!

Role Formats & Organizational Structure

The goal has always been to keep the hierarchy in The ALANA Project as low as possible, and the roles we crafted will tremendously help with it. Please review the individual roles in detail here:

• Nucleus Guardian
• Nucleus Specialist
• Nucleus Apprentice

It is important to mention that currently, there is still the role of Navigator in place, which we can hopefully abolish by the end of 2025. The current organizational structure looks like this:

Risks

Updating this original structure is unavoidable so that an organization does not wither over time. We should keep reminding ourselves as the community grows not to lose focus on that and keep iterating on the organizational outline and structure as necessary and with purpose! Another important note I would like to add is that we currently have no rules for leveling up from one role to another in place, we should soon decide for a point threshold or similar to identify when roles should be upgraded at least from Apprentice to Specialist as the Guardian role is by election only.
