D00006 - GET Protocol DAO Builder Grants Funding

Summary This proposal seeks to outline and fund a DAO Builder Grant Program from the DAO treasury which will be utilised to incentivise and reward community builders that create tooling which adds value to the ecosystem, integrators and community.

With the new rebrand launch, we’re going from a protocol with a single development hotspot, to an ecosystem that anyone can build on top of and integrate into. These permissionless ticketing lego blocks are the beginnings of a self sustaining ecosystem and flywheel that will take us into the next leg of our ambitions to bring the global ticketing industry onchain.

Attracting quality senior, intermediate and junior developers into our ecosystem is therefore of utmost important to achieve a value adding ecosystem for all involved.

As such we are seeking to kickstart the grant program with 50,000 GET in order to trial incentivisation mechanisms that attract, reward and integrate new builders into our ecosystem.

Motivation

There has never been a better time to capture more attention in the wider Web3 space and showcase how we’re bringing the ticketing industry onchain. With the rise of GameFi and other utility lead industry sectors, we fully believe onchain ticketing is an industry not only with true value in onboarding and accessible benefits, but also in speculative value in charting the increasing activity and volume of tickets that will come onchain.

Rationale

To foster a thriving builder ecosystem, the grants program will need to have a flexible yet well scoped rationale for what constitutes a grant worthy development. As such we’ve taken a page out of Base’s grants program and as such believe the DAO should benchmark grant requests under the following north stars:

• Does the project provide meaningful value and contribute to bringing more tickets on-chain?
• Does the project provide unique benefits to integrators or the community?
• Is the project live, being built or in a concepting phase to where next steps can be taken to make it a reality?

Specification & Implementation Provided the vote passes, a new DAO grants wallet will be created which will be funded with GET from the DAO treasury. This wallet will remain dormant until a suitable grant request has been submitted and subsequently passes a DAO proposal to commit grant funds to the project team.

Timeline A vote will be conducted from the 1st March - 7th March. If consensus is reached and the vote passes, we will allocate the proposed budget to a new multi-sig wallet for usage.
