Summary This proposal seeks to outline and fund a broad marketing budget of GET from the DAO treasury that will be utilised for widespread marketing efforts around the upcoming rebrand launch in March. To achieve these goals, we are seeking 150,000 GET in order to best maximise the success of the marketing campaign.
Motivation There has never been a better time for us to capture attention in the wider Web3 space.
After several years of proving our technology, the usecase and our market fit, we’re excited for the next leg of the protocol’s journey which involves bringing the ticketing industry fully onchain by growing a thriving permissionless and global ecosystem.
The time is now for meaningful change but to do that we need to rally the Web3 space around our cause and as such it’s imperative that we don’t fly under the radar and are seen as the defacto ecosystem for bringing ticketing onchain.
By increasing our exposure several fold to the wider space, not only will we benefit from establishing a larger network effect that can open up new contacts and strengthen the mission, but will also serve as a catalyst to start the flywheel of a self sustaining ecosystem where builders can create and fund new tooling, integrators can tap into permisionless ticketing lego, organisers can fund their event with deep financing liquidity and token holders can govern a sustainable infrastructure that swallows the global ticketing industry over time.
The tech is ready, the team is ready, the community is ready and the industry is ready. It’s time to get mass attention and this marketing campaign will be the starter gun to get us fully into motion.
Rationale With the new rebrand we now have the opportunity to tap into several new narratives to capture significant attention, namely:
To do so, we need to pick the right shilling avenues and parties involved that will extend the network reach tenfold in attracting new enthusiasts that can spread the mission, message and upsides present with our token. To capture this new attention in the wider Web3 space ultimately incurs marketing expenses which we believe will give us the power we need to spread the rebrand and mission and in doing so reach a critical mass that will make it far easier to operate future marketing initiatives in a sustainable manner.
Specification & Implementation Thankfully we have built a reputable network of partners and marketing avenues which we believe will provide the greatest return of value. Provided the vote passes, the team will delegate GET from the DAO treasury to the marketing wallet. This GET will then be used periodically over the launch window and beyond to distribute to marketing entities on a case by case basis.
Payments for marketing services will likely be done through a mixture of GET and USDT.
Given the overhead of managing the number of entities we will explore in marketing the launch, we will not disclose when a new marketing service is undertaken and when a direct payment is made, but rest assured that after several years of dealing with external parties, we will only take deals that are within the best interests of the community and DAO.
