D00018 - Utilize DAO Funds for Community Rewards Q1/Q2 2025

SUMMARY: This proposal seeks 10,000,000 OPN from the DAO for rewards for community activities within the Open Ecosystem.

MOTIVATION: With the imminent announcement of CM.com as a new client, along with further business in the pipeline to coincide with the Open Hub, the time is right to begin a new series of rewards to incentivize community participation and make the ecosystem more appealing to new members.

RATIONALE: The team has begun issuing rewards itself starting with the Telegram Bot, and has hinted at some rewards to come through the Hub. Without knowing the full scope of what these will be, the rationale here is that it is better to err on the side of having more OPN available to supplement these programs.

Moreover, certain activities may not fit within the framework of the Hub/Bot and would warrant separate reward money.

SPECIFICATIONS: Examples of community initiatives might include:

1. Content or marketing activities within Legion
2. A giveaway for Open's 10 millionth ticket
3. Additional prizes for the Open Pass to strengthen the membership
4. Other... ideas will present themselves as more announcements are rolled out, and community ideas will be taken into account as well.

IMPLEMENTATION: Nate will continue to run this wallet ("Open Rewards Fund") on Ethereum and Polygon:

A Sophon wallet would possibly come into play as well.

Nate would generally be responsible for running promotions and paying out rewards, but would also cooperate with the team, community leads, Legion, and all community members to the greatest extent possible when structuring each initiative.

BUDGET: 10,000,000 OPN would cover roughly 5 months of rewards (now until end of July) coinciding with the team's rollout of new products and clients. For reference, in 2024, 25,500,000 OPN was paid out in rewards, and about 10,000,000 OPN was paid to Nate as a salary.

Nate is opting not to receive a salary for now. Only 10m OPN will be requested at this time, all of which will be distributed.

VOTE OPTIONS: This will be a simple yes or no vote, although the exact figure of OPN is up for debate if people feel it is too high or low.
