10K (4 Digit) Council Member Vote

On October 17th, the 10k club voted unanimously, without a single rejection, to accept a new council to administer the twitter, discord, and the direction of the social club. Holders were given 7 days to vote and the vote was communicated in advance.

This was followed by a nomination period, and QA session where the majority of candidates shared more about themselves and their vision for the future of the 10k club.

The council to be voted on will be made up of 6 members.

• 3 of these members will be 3 digit holders (999)

• 3 of these members will be 4 digit holders (10K)

• This vote, is to vote for three 10k positions.

• The snapshot proposal that will be completed is meant as a fresh start, to give new faces a chance to lead the direction of the 10k club.

• It is possible that the number of members on this council is increased, as decided by the same council or by a future snapshot vote. It is also possible that the council create new roles for new team members to come in and make a notable contribution.

• For today, there will be 3 and 3 voted to keep things simple, and ensure that the 999 and 10k have equal weight in decision making for the club.

• The council idea is designed to promote more transparency and accountability, to give the community true choice of direction, and prevent a small cohort of members from appearing to be “in control” of the club. The culture we want to cultivate is a global community where all members are welcome to give their input and help guide its direction and future.

• The council will be in charge of the brand, direction, partnerships, economy, events, and online presence of the 10k club.

• The council would be responsible for the 10k Club Discord administration.

• The council would be responsible for the @10kClubOfficial Twitter administration, holding credentials and posting.

• The council would be responsible for making decisions around the addition or removal of operational mods and Admins.

• The council members must hold at least one 3 digit ENS Name to be eligible for one of the three 999 council spots. And at least one 4 digit ENS Name to be eligible for one of the three 10K Council spots. When self-nominating they need to include their qualifying ENS name, and while they are on the council, they should continue to hold at least one of these assets at all times for the 6 months

• If they sell their only digit or transfer it without proof of wallet ownership, or simply wish to resign the council role, they will forfeit their position and a new vote will be triggered by the community along with nominations for the remaining period given there is sufficient time to conduct such a nomination and interim vote.

• If an interim vote is to be held, sufficient time to conduct this means that there is more than 1 month remaining in the period the current council has left to serve. This gives time for nominations and snapshot vote.

• Council main responsibility: Ensure that no unilateral decisions can be made by anyone within the 999/10K community. Work as a team to keep building the club and on-boarding new members.

The council is a centralized entity, however it is a decentralized vote, made up of only holders who expressed serious interest in doing the job and a genuine interest in seeing the 10k club scale and flourish. Each digit has a vote. Users with many digits can influence the vote, however the only way to solve that would be to KYC every voter so that they cant just vote from different accounts, and adding a KYC process would without a doubt lower the participation.

This method of using snapshot.org votes, which is extremely common in web3, has been deemed as the most straightforward way to conduct this vote in a decentralized fashion, in addition there is wide distribution of digits.

The council, although initially experimental, is meant to be an improvement for the club as up till this point the community at large has never been consulted as to who has final say on decisions and hold credentials.

You can split your vote among several council candidates, or give all your vote to a single candidate. You can also change your vote up to the final moment of the snapshot proposal.

The candidates included in this proposal have expressed serious interest in being part of the council, have made their best effort to provide their platform to the community and participate in a community call, and have repeatedly confirmed their serious interest in being a part of the process.

Winning candidates will have their Eth addresses checked to make sure they own the digit associated to them running. If a winning candidate cannot prove their ownership, the runner up will be selected.

The council will be re-elected every 6 months. This can be changed in the future with another snapshot vote by 999 and 10k club members.
