title: [ARFC] Update Signers and SAFE Configuration March 2026 author: @TokenLogic created: 2026-03-25
This publication proposes updates to the Budget SAFE signer configuration to improve transaction execution reliability, signer availability, and operational efficiency.
As the operational scope and financial responsibilities of the Aave ecosystem continue to expand, ensuring timely and reliable transaction execution across SAFEs is critical.
The current Budget Allocation SAFEs configuration has experienced occasional friction due to constraints on signer availability. Given the financial nature of transactions executed through these SAFEs, improving execution throughput while maintaining appropriate security standards is a priority.
To address this, the proposed changes aim to:
Transitioning from a 3-of-4 to a 3-of-5 signer configuration increases redundancy without increasing the execution threshold, thereby enhancing operational efficiency while preserving security guarantees.
