Summary
We would like to elect 10 new members to the Aave Guardian. As an Aave holder, you can select the 10 candidates who will represent the Aave community.
The Guardian currently acts as a “veto” on malicious attacks on the Aave Protocol through governance votes by centralized actors. The Guardian will now also temporarily hold keys of new deployments of the Aave Protocol on L2 (or otherwise) while the technical implementations for Aave Governance to control such deployment on those networks is finalized (i.e., a protocol governance bridge). More details on the rationale for this can be found in this post.
