Frens, do you often open the maall, only to disappointedly find its shelves barren? Would you like to add a little more excitement and gameplay to the aavegotchi realm?

I would like to propose the opening of the Aavegotchi Traveling Caart!

Summary:

Introduce a Traveling Caart that would sell a proportion of each season’s wearables (more details in the options). The caart would appear twice per week. Ex: Every Tuesday and Saturday at 12:00 and 0:00 UTC respectively.

The exact moment of the caart’s arrival would be random within a thirty-minute window, and there would be an announcement made in Discord saying the cart is arriving into the station in the next 5 minutes.

Benefits:

• Add more gameplay and excitement to Aavegotchi! The caart would add a consistent reason to check back and play.

• Builds community within Discord. More eyes in Discord would drive more connection. Also, people can brag about what sweet items they scored!

• More incentive to hold GHST. By spreading out when GHST is spent, there will be less price spiking/dumping around seasonal launches.

• A caart could allow for more dynamic item introduction. If the caart is always stocked with different wearables, a new, smaller set could be folded into it seamlessly (the maall stocking just one or two items would feel a bit random, yea?). It also opens the possibility for more surprise items to be folded into the ecosystem. What if there was a mystery item yet-to-be launched and you found out it was coming in the Discord announcement 5 minutes before it lands?!

• Benefits the small guy who loves the game. A passionate player who checks the cart often might be able to snap up a legendary and sell it in the bazaar for a nice premium.

• Gives new arrivals something to participate in between haunts.

• It would create a more dynamic bazaar as even some of the rarest items could first arrive with a limited stock. Players who really want the items NOW would pay the premium.

• Godlikes and mythicals would be even more elusive as the final drops might not appear for a few weeks, even a month.

• It could add a level of excitement for the top-tier players. What if that one yet-to-be-spawned godlike is the key to them claiming the prize for rarity farming?

The end goal:

The end goal is to have more playability, better price stability for GHST, as well as introduce dynamic supply for the items. Imagine a physical representation of the caart rolling up into town square twice per week, blowing its horn, and all the little gotchis scurrying to the counter to make a purchase?

Potential Risks:

I don’t really see many risks, so I’m going out on a limb here…

• One potential risk is if the game isn’t very popular, then the demand for wearables would be low enough that the cart would always be stocked and prices in the bazaar would flat line. Though I suppose if the game isn’t very popular, then flooding the market with 10k+ new items wouldn’t help prices either!

• The RNG of drops could confuse or frustrate people.

• The big whales who hoard everything and resell on bazaar might not support the idea, get upset, and leave?

Two Options:

I propose two different options. The first is an integrated approach which preserves the maall while introducing the caart. The second is a more radical approach which replaces the maall entirely.

Please note: at no point am I proposing to change the final item count of any items.

Option One: Keep the Maall and launch the caart as a bonus

With this option, new wearables would launch in the maall as before, but at a 50% rate.

Common: 1000 -> 500 Uncommon: 500 -> 250 Rare: 250 -> 125 Legendary: 100 -> 50 Mythical: 50 -> 25 Godlike: 5 -> 3

The cart would then spawn the remaining items over an eight-week period (for a total of sixteen appearances). The length of time could also be synced to the length of each season so that way there’s always something in stock. The drop rate would be subject to RNG but would, on average, be per cart appearance:

Common: 31.25 Uncommon: 15.6 Rare: 7.8 Legendary: 3.12 Mythical: 1.56 Godlike: 0.125

At the end of the eight weeks, the full stock will have been sold.

Option Two: Demolish the Maall and use only the caart

This option is a bit more radical but could be even more exciting. Rather than mint half the wearables up front, everything would instead appear in the caart entirely. The first caart appearances would have a heavier weight and there would be diminishing returns in the drops until the stock is finally exhausted.

Where it gets interesting is with items of higher rarity. Towards the end, a mythical or godlike could go several rounds with zero drops and then BAM!

Note: roughly 50% of the items would still appear within the first two weeks.

The drops would still be subject to RNG but would look something more like this:

Common: 190 -> 140 -> 100 -> 65 -> 40 -> 35 -> … Uncommon: 95 -> 70 -> 50 -> 30 -> 25 -> … Rare: 50 -> 40 -> 30 -> 18 -> 15 -> … Legendary: 30 -> 21 -> 17 -> 13 -> 5 -> … Mythical: 16 -> 9 -> 5 -> 3 -> 0 -> 1 -> ... Godlike: 3 -> 1 -> 0 -> 0 -> 1 -> 0 -> …

This could be set to a finite end point or could be left open with diminishing returns. An open schedule would allow for a few straggling items (could cut this to rare and lower) to pop up many weeks or months later.

Option Three: Keep things the way they are

This option means empty maall shelves 99.9% of the time with players smashing through the maall doors in Black Friday fashion.

If you like the general idea but disagree with one micro-aspect of it, I encourage you to vote in favor as I am sure the devs will be making adjustments anyhow.

I would like to suggest to the devs that if there is huge support for either option one or two, but the margin requirement isn’t met, that the proposal of reworking the maall be considered largely supported by the community.
