Transition to Community Governance: AirDAO Council Proposal
AirDAO is ushering in a new era of decentralization and community governance. AirDAO’s leadership structure will be decentralized and transition to a flat DAO structure. Centralized leadership roles will be eliminated, and no sole developer or development company will maintain, control or build AirDAO’s blockchain.
The current CEO/Director role will be retired by May 31st, 2023, and replaced by the elected council. After the 31st, the AirDAO Council will have total control over the roadmap, HR, financial, and operations decisions.
The AirDAO community will elect a council of nine members. The council will take control of AirDAO’s finances, operational budget multi-sig, and blockchain core-engineer multi-sig. The council will have 100% control over all AirDAO assets by May 31st, 2023, and will hold regular meetings to decide on roadmap and operation decisions.
This vote is to ratify the AirDAO Council Proposal document created by the community and set the plan to transition to DAO governance in motion.
The AirDAO Council Proposal document covers the following: • Council members' roles, responsibilities, and compensation. • The council's power over all AirDAO assets, funds, IP, and more. • The key topics which need to be discussed and voted on by the Council in the period before the Council is legally in power and immediately after. • Appropriate candidate profiles for the AirDAO Council. • Separation of power between Council and Operational Management. • Council term length.
All of the above topics and more are covered in the document. You must review the document prepared by the community before voting, available here:
