Background

New founders and talent building within Alchemist is the fuel that powers our community. This reality organically emerged out of the chaos of no plan. In less than half a year we’ve built three very successful projects: Crucible, mistX, and Copper. It’s time to replicate this success at scale.

The Alchemist Council will play a critical role when incubating new projects. It will be responsible for deciding whether new venture proposals will receive funding, and whether funding should continue for existing projects.

The council will be made up of 5 elected members and a special founder’s role for @thegostep. Each Alchemist Council will come up for reelection every 6 months. To bootstrap the Council we will initiate it with three seniors, and then run a community vote for the 2 remaining spots based on the Council applications we received from within the community.

The Senior Alchemists will then work to onboard the newly elected council members and continue iterating on our governance structure until it is brought to a refined state. Voting

The election will be for a 6 month term and will be conducted using the quadratic voting method within our Crucible governance module. The top two community members will be elected to the council.
