Proposal overview
We propose increasing the built-in Swap & Bridge fee in Ambire Wallet. The objective is to drive more value to the $WALLET token by collecting more revenue from swap fees, ultimately used for $WALLET buybacks.
The question is: Should Ambire increase the built-in Swap & Bridge fee from 0.25% to 0.50%?
Voting options
- Yes - Increase fee
- No - Don’t Increase fee
Applicability & timing
If the vote passes with “Yes,” this change will take effect immediately.
Motivation
- With more $WALLET distributed to the Ambire community through Ambire Rewards, we want to further establish the token as the backbone of Ambire’s shared revenue model. If Ambire wins, holders should win too.
- In the Ambire ecosystem, Swap & Bridge fees are used for driving value to the $WALLET token - collected fees are used for $WALLET buybacks.
- Effectively, higher swap fee returns value to $WALLET holders, as buybacks increase the scarcity of the token.
- Currently, Ambire charges the lowest swap fee of 0.25%, compared to competitors. However, Ambire is currently the only wallet using the swap revenue entirely for buybacks.
- In the near future, we are planning on proposing swap fee discounts for $WALLET holders.
Voting requirements
- Hold $WALLET or $stkWALLET before the snapshot.
- Please note that the voting power of $WALLET tokens is half (0.5 points) that of $stkWALLET tokens.
- Any token changes after the snapshot will not affect the voting power. For example, staking your $WALLET tokens after the snapshot will not double their voting power.
