Governance Proposal 31: Ecosystem Fund Utilization

Voting ended 16 days agoSucceeded

Summary

With the veABOND revamp now live, ApeBond Governance is once again actively shaping the future of the protocol together with the community.

Following the launch of True Yield and its realignment of incentives for ABOND holders, the ApeBond treasury has been steadily accumulating ABOND as part of the Ecosystem Fund. This proposal seeks community consensus on how to best utilize these funds to strengthen the protocol, support long-term sustainability, and grow the ABOND ecosystem.

Background & Current State

Currently, as a direct result of the True Yield mechanics and permanent locking:

  • 31.6M ABOND has been permanently burned through permalocks
  • 6.3M ABOND has accrued to the Ecosystem Fund
  • Combined with previously held ABOND from Buybacks Bonds, the ApeBond treasury currently holds a total of 15.9M ABOND

These tokens represent a strategic resource that can be deployed to reinforce ABOND’s token economics and support long-term protocol growth.

Proposal

After discussions within the community and the core team, three primary strategies have been identified to deploy the newly acquired ABOND held in the ApeBond treasury. All proposed options follow the same high-level structure:

ABOND will be utilized via offering permalocked veABOND through Bonds Buyers get oABOND, which can be converted into permalocked veABOND Funds raised through these Bonds will be allocated according to the selected strategy

Option 1: 100% ABOND Buyback Program

  • All raised funds are used for the ABOND Buyback program
  • Objective: utilize accumulated ABOND to grow its price via buybacks

Option 2: 100% ABOND / WBNB Liquidity Program

  • All raised funds are used for the ABOND/WBNB Liquidity Program
  • Objective: deepen liquidity, improve market efficiency, and support long-term trading stability for ABOND

Option 3: Mix 50% Buybacks + 50% Liquidity

  • 50% of funds allocated to the ABOND Buyback Program
  • 50% allocated to the ABOND/WBNB Liquidity Program
  • Objective: balance price action with liquidity growth Percentual split between both strategies might vary due to market conditions.

Option 4: Reject Proposal

  • No action is taken at this time
  • Opens the door for alternative proposals or revised strategies

Voting & Execution

Voting will be conducted via ApeBond Governance with veABOND voting power If approved, execution will follow the parameters defined in the selected option All actions will be transparent and reported to the community

Closing

This proposal reflects ApeBond’s ongoing commitment to community-driven decision-making and long-term alignment between the protocol, its treasury, and ABOND holders. We look forward to deciding the next step for the ApeBond ecosystem together and continuing to build a stronger, more sustainable protocol as a DAO.
