To all Great Apes holders,
The time has come to make an important decision in the future of our ecosystem.
On 01/13/2024, we announced the merge which combined both Apes Together Strong (ATS) and Rise of the Apes (ROTA).

The concept of the merge was to create a singular Ethereum collection, while maintaining the origin of your original NFT through the metadata. At the same time, we changed the name of this combined collection to Great Apes (Grapes) and acquired the X handle @Grapes.
The merge was designed to innovate what was "normally" done when contracts migrate... avoiding the snapshot and airdrop method. This avoided airdropping dead NFT's - including users that may have forgotten their seed phrase, and/or had their NFT's stolen. It provided both the team, and the community with an up-to-date, and accurate reflection of the engagement within our community... including un-inflated unique holder counts and wallet holdings.
The merge was the first of it's kind... allowing users in real-time to merge their old NFT's to the new collection instantaneously. It protected users on marketplaces that had forgotten, and had open WETH offers from being dumped on as the merged both issues the new NFT, and takes the old one. The company further paid 40x more gas pre-minting the OG collection through an ERC721A contract (1 by 1) to save end users gas fees when merging.
On 01/18/2024, the merge commenced which gave further details about the merge, along with a direct warning to merge your apes within 90 days. You can read that here: https://medium.com/@atsnft/merge-51b009339434
It has now been 602 days since the merge. We have surpassed the earlier deadline by realizing how cool it is to randomly merge an ape... including dead wallets that wake up and merge randomly. It was, and is a cool process. The flip side of this... it encourages users to check in yearly instead of daily or weekly (like most Web3 users). We want our group to be active, and for this to happen... we need to close the merge (my opinion). I should note that due to the complexity of the merge... it also costs our company lots of money to host the application, and the images.
The amount of time that has passed since the merge has far __surpassed a reasonable time period for users to merge. __
Since the beginning of Apes Together Strong (ATS), we have democratized decision making, passing large decision making opportunities into the hands of the holders.
This is your time to vote.
