This proposal requests a maximum of $1.5k from the ATX DAO treasury to cover initial production costs for the ATX DAO podcast. These funds may not be necessary, and if they are, things like subscriptions will be added to the recurring operational costs of ATX DAO akin to how we handle services like Squarespace and Google Workspace. Projected costs are listed at the end of this proposal.
Once the podcast has traction, it has the potential to become a valuable revenue stream for the DAO.
Goals: The podcast aims to connect members of the DAO, the Austin community and the greater Web3 ecosystem by highlighting member activities and projects as well as discussing relevant topics. We want to demonstrate the vibrancy, diversity and talent within the DAO and show the positive results of partnering with the DAO. We also want to produce educational and valuable content for the general public to drive awareness of our organization while helping people learn about the space.
Over time, the podcast will serve as a recruitment channel for membership and a revenue generator via sponsorships.
Production format, distribution and promotion: We should aim for a podcast length of about an hour. If practical, we should produce audio and video versions of each episode. This will give us more content to drive awareness and visibility for the podcast. Our production cadence should strike a balance between keeping audiences engaged and being manageable by ATX DAO members.
Resources needed: Until we are confident in our format and listenership, we should focus on an MVP production ethos that allows us to quickly iterate on content and format.
People:
Equipment and tools: In the beginning, we should take a scrappy, DIY mindset toward producing the podcast. As the podcast gains traction and can support sponsorship, we can enhance the production quality with better tools, services and hired talent.
