[CDIP-2] - Delegation of CDF Spending Authority for Operational Expenses

[CDIP-1] - Delegation of CDF Spending Authority for Operational Expenses Author: @yyctrader

As Basis Cash successfully continues its bootstrapping phase, we have been presented with a great opportunity to utilize small amounts of CDF funds to further our marketing and community efforts. Thanks to a few generous expansions, the Community Fund now stands at over $400K.

It is proposed that authority to approve expenses up to US$ 1000 from the Community Development Fund be delegated to Morty and the Mod team. This would allow us to move quickly when opportunities present themselves, and avoid trivial snapshot votes.

These would include but are not limited to:

  1. Marketing content like the videos done by @jrrrrrr
  2. Funding the tip bot and rewarding members for contributions.
  3. Operational costs (server hosting etc)
  • Any community member may propose a reasonable use of CDF funds and it will be put up for a Discord vote.
  • Either Morty or the Mods may veto a proposal if they feel it is unjustified (to prevent abuse/gaming).
  • A weekly cap of $5K is also proposed. If we reach the cap in a given week, any additional spending will either require community approval, or will have to be delayed until the following week.

For full transparency, a new Discord channel #CDF-txs will be created and a monthly summary of expenses will be posted. Community members are encouraged to actively monitor the CDF here:
