Proposal: Formally hire Malteasy as part-time Backend/Full-stack Developer within the Engineering Department (30+ hours/week).

Resume: Malteasy is an engineering student and a part-time full stack developer. Their experience includes building MERN full-stack applications (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js, Next), as well as building more sophisticated backend software (such as a high-frequency orderbook in Golang), and also some branches of deep learning and machine learning. Malteasy won Microsoft Imagine Cup Finals with a project which used generative recurrent neural networks to create relevant drug molecules for specific targets. Before this, Malteasy had been working for a YC startup which did work with bayesian active learning, feature importance estimation, and parameter optimization for carrying out wet lab testing with more efficiency. Malteasy has also founded Monument Labs (https://monument.app/](https://monument.app/), which raised $1.5 Million through SAFEs from notable investors and VCs such as Naval Ravikant, Nascent.xyz, Nima Capital, and Dan Elitzer.

Malteasy has been involved in Beanstalk Farms since December of 2021 and would now like to formalize his role. The projects malteasy has already worked and touched upon include:

  • LpSilov2 fixed bugs and wrote full coverage tests
  • Partial Silo Update Task and more general Silo Interoperability
  • Pod marketplace development

Role Definition: This full stack developer / backend position reports to the head of the Engineering Department and involves:

  • Working alongside Beanjoyer on further developing the functionality of the Farmers Market.
  • Incorporating necessary changes to the Farmers Market UI to reflect the backend changes.

Payment:

8000 beans per month, paid twice a month, starting on March 1st. Retroactive payment of 7,000 for previous work completed by malteasy.

Commitment:

30 hours per week, through the end of Q1, 2022. At-will.

Note* Due to school obligations, Malteasy will intend to work under these terms until September 1st, 2022 when he will redetermine his involvement/commitment.
