Types of Melons

Melons belong to the Cucurbitaceae (Gourd) family, which also includes pumpkins, squashes, cucumbers, and calabash. These fruits come in a variety of flavors, textures, and shapes, ranging from the sweet, juicy watermelon to the flavorful cantaloupe. While most melons are sweet and round, some, like the bitter melon and winter melon, deviate from that description.
