Dear All,
This proposal follows my earlier* ‘signalling’ proposal, which ‘signalled’ an interest in a further article on bganlawyer.substack.com on the topic of DAO's.
The Bgan ecosystem is being expanded very very well by the Bastard DAO and as a broader observation, DAO's are being created increasingly regularly. The DAO structure has become this sort of known unknown but is still conceptually ambiguous. Any article on this topic would assess the concept of a DAO, the structure and legal framework of a DAO and if required, the alternative considerations an optimised DAO may wish to take. Please note that any article on this topic would focus on DAO's as a general concept (albeit, possibly using Bgans/the Bastard DAO in examples) and so any positive or negative comments made would not be about the Bastard DAO beyond the inference that can be drawn from the Bastard DAO being a DAO. The intention of this article is to explore the concept of a DAO, clarify what a DAO is as much as possible before going onto set out the options a DAO has as to its ‘legal structure’ and the pro’s and con’s of these options to allow for informed discussion, in the future if such discussions do arise.
Just to expand on the logic underpinning this as suggested topic. Through my articles, I've tried to clarify the value that Bgans hold from a legal/lawyer's perspective - it's IP, it's originality and the validity of its license. All of these rights belong to the individual Bgan holder. But all Bgan holders are DAO members and if the ambiguity around DAO's is cleared up, we then have a legally solid foundation, atop which we can buidl towards our network state.
I anticipate an article on this topic being in the region of 3000-3500 words and so based on previous rate, I would propose a ‘fee’ of £525 (GBP). September has been a busy month with 2 articles already but based on ‘IRL’ commitments, I think I’ll be able to publish this article on or before 30th September (if the outcome of this vote is ‘yes’).
