Proposal to create a Comic Book for Bastard Gan Punks V2

Hi all,

I am writing on behalf of F. Plus Ultra for the Summer of Writing initiative.

This DAO proposal is to commission the first edition of a Bgan comic book. If the DAO is satisfied, F. Plus Ultra has committed to six more issues of an action thriller titled Double Helix: A Bastard Gan Punks Story pending a vote on compensation for these successive issues.

The comic will be posted on F. Plus Ultra’s Substack as well as on the Bgan Twitter if the social media team approves.

"Introduction: Attaching a story to a product is a reliable formula tested time and time again. Combining a potential storytelling aspect with the BGANs community would continue to propel the project forward, as well as become one of the many incentives for collecting BGANs in the future. When comparing Bastard Gan Punks to other projects, it is apparent that the angle of being strategically off-centered has been a success. By maintaining a focus on community first, a limited series comic book would provide more exposure.

Story: This is a series told from the perspective of a young man caught up in the underworld of stolen art in the metaverse. Alongside a deadly cast of characters, our main character learns he’s being followed by a shady organization, becoming one of their targets. Told in the style of a Mark Millar limited series, these seven issues will slowly unravel a tale of addiction, mortality, and family ties.

The name of the comic book, Double Helix, represents a single strand of DNA and the grooves and bonds comprising it. Also, two opposing forces clashing in a neverending spiral, one losing its purpose without the other, like a tornado formed only by the swirling of hot and cold air.

Marketing: There have been two recent partnerships that will grow to impact the general NFT space in the near future. Superconductor, an agency founded by box office gauntlets Justin Lin and the Russo Brothers, has partnered with Parallel for creating stories within the project universe. The Forgotten Runes Wizards Cult have also partnered with Derek Kolstad, the writer of John Wick, and the animation studio Titmouse to create a series for their PFP project.

I am a 25-year-old writer coming from the US, and have been writing fiction for years in my own time, having completed novels, short stories, and comic books as personal projects. Right now I am working on my next collection of short stories as well as completing a full-length novel to be released within the year. The idea is to use as many aspects of web3 as possible while I can. I believe it was important to write this story for the DAO because while it may prove to be accessible, the narrative does not feel familiar, which is reflective of the project as well." - F. The total commission for the first edition will be 1ETH. This is due to the fact that we will need to compensate F. Plus Ultra as well as an illustrator in order for the comic book to be finalized. I am not recommending a split, and will leave it to the discretion of F. Plus Ultra, especially if he has to source the illustrator.

A YES vote is in favor of paying F. Plus Ultra and an illustrator a total of 1ETH to be split at the author’s discretion upon completion of the first edition of the comic book.

A NO vote is not in favor of any of the above terms.
