Dear BIO Community,

We propose to officially close the ongoing airdrop. The BIO airdrop was launched on the May 22nd and has now been ongoing for more than 3 months (Claim Page). We propose to close the airdrop on September 22, 2024 concluding a 4-month claim window. Secondly, we propose that unclaimed tokens will be moved back into the BIO treasury. Potential usage of unclaimed tokens would be determined via future governance proposals.

Reasoning

The airdrop has done a great job of rewarding early ecosystem participants. After more than 3 months of the airdrop being live, it seems likely anyone who was going to claim their tokens has already done so. Closing the airdrop now rather than keeping it open indefinitely has the positive effect of creating certainty around circulating supply and allows BIO to repurpose the unused supply of the airdrop in the future.

Lastly, the future airdrop closing date of September 22 was selected to give users who haven’t claimed yet enough of time to still do so once the announcement about the closing has been circulated.
