BIP-15: Continent DAO: Bringing Mass Adoption to BIT
This proposal is authored by Don from Continent DAO.
Highlights: Solving internet access problems and creating economies in Latin America.
Continent DAO intends to establish a partnership with BitDAO to implement programs aimed at promoting the mass adoption of Web 3 in Latin America.
Continent DAO will migrate to Mantle Network and use $BIT as its main token.
Continent DAO has committed to reserving 50% of the collections from its "Free Wi-Fi" utility NFT with preference in choosing and allocating 30% of its voting governors committee seats designated by BitDAO governance.
BitDAO commits to providing funding to Continent DAO in the amount of $22 million USD, divided into five tranches of $4.4 million USD each, in the form of cryptocurrency assets. The first tranche will be sent after the approval of this proposal, and the remaining tranches will be sent based on milestones and approval from the BitDAO governance.
The allocation of funds provided by BitDAO will be as follows: 80% will be used for investments, 15% for grants, and 5% for education.
This project makes sense for BitDAO because it will put the organization, Continent DAO, and the concept of DAOs and AEs in the public eye through pioneering programs in the real-world mass adoption of this partnership through private and government collaboration. This proposal benefits not only the economic side adding value to the $BIT governance token, but also the social and participatory factor among our communities.
