BPIP 012: Allocation of 25,000 USDC to the BlackPool Association for Complete dApp Redesign

Voting ended 7 months agoSucceeded

Summary This BIP proposes to allocate 25,000 USDC budget allocation from the BlackPool treasury to completely redesign and rebuild the BlackPool dApp—front to back. This covers a full revamp of the user interface, upgraded smart contract integration, and streamlined data layers. The goal is to modernise the dApp, improve usability, and future-proof it for upcoming features like vaults, perks, and partner integrations.

Mandate & Recipient of Funds In line with the mandate granted to the BlackPool Association to manage and execute operational and development activities on behalf of the DAO, the total amount of 25,000 USDC shall be allocated from the BlackPool Treasury to the BlackPool Association. The Association shall act as the sole recipient and executor of the budget and shall retain full discretion to contract, coordinate, and manage service providers and contributors to ensure the successful delivery of the described scope.

Target delivery: within 8 weeks of proposal approval.

Why This Matters The current dApp has served us well, but it’s outdated in both look and feel. It doesn't reflect the direction we're heading—either in terms of design standards or product scope. We want the BlackPool Hub to become the central dashboard for our users: intuitive, performant, and capable of supporting upcoming releases. This redesign is about more than aesthetics: Redesigned UX/UI: A professional, mobile-ready interface that’s easier to navigate and more accessible to new users. Modular architecture: Built to scale with upcoming products—vaults, perks, referral tools, and third-party integrations. Credibility boost: A polished product builds trust with partners, users, and the broader Web3 community. Performance uplift: Faster load times, smoother interactions, and optimised smart contract connectivity. ** Deliverables** Full UI/UX redesign (wireframes, high-fidelity designs, interactive prototypes) Rebuilt front-end with a modular component system Integrated backend logic with updated smart contract hooks Responsive and mobile-first design Final production deployment of the new dApp QA, testing, and bug fixing across devices and wallets

Budget Breakdown A preliminary estimation sets the total cost at 25,000 USDC, broken down as follows: UX/UI Design: 5,000 USDC Front-End Development: 10,000 USDC Smart Contract & dApp Logic Integration: 10,000 USDC Funds will be used to engage trusted contributors and external partners with prior experience working with BlackPool or its ecosystem.

Budget Flexibility The Association may, in its reasonable discretion, adjust internal allocations within the approved 25,000 USDC budget to best meet the objectives of this proposal, provided the total sum is not exceeded and the scope remains materially aligned.

Timeline & Milestones Week 1–2: Finalise wireframes, design system, and component breakdown Week 3–6: Front-end + dApp logic integration Week 7–8: QA, testing, final polish iteration & mainnet deployment Public Launch: Expected within 2 months of budget approval

Voting Options For: Approve 25,000 USDC for the redesign and rebuild of the BlackPool dApp Against: Reject the proposal; keep the current dAPP Abstain: Abstain from voting.
