Process
- We launched Blank NFTs: NFTs that evolve by holder vote
- We voted on phase 1: the top three evolution ideas
- We voted on phase 2: the top idea, Darwin (evolving pfps)
- We voted on phase 3: a plan for how Darwin will work
- This vote is phase 4: a plan for implementing Darwin (team, comp, timeline). If this vote passes: we will execute the Darwin plan and evolve Blanks. If this vote doesn’t pass: we will pause everything and re-evaluate
Proposal
Timeline (for first evolution to Lazy Birbs)
- Aggressive: June 1
- Most likely: July 1
- Conservative: August 1
Commitment
- We will execute the Darwin plan
- We will support the project for 3 months after the first evolution (e.g. moderating Discord, moderating uploads, manually evolving)
- After 3 months community needs to submit a new proposal for any ongoing management or future work
Contributors and Blanks
- Jared - 150 Blanks for development
- G0 - 100 Blanks for community / marketing / ops
- Chase - 100 Blanks for marketing / project mgmt / ops
- Nadia - 25 Blanks for support where needed
- Reserve - 125 Blanks (to allocate to others who help or contributors who go above or beyond, to be allocated by 1 vote per contributor listed in this proposal)
- Total = 500 (USD value of ~$5,000 USD at current floor * ETH price)
(Note: At launch ~10% of Blanks will be owned by contributors, which in our opinion is low for a project with a free mint and no fundraising or ETH/USD compensation)
Blank distribution timeline
- 50% of Blanks paid upon proposal passing (for work done: drafting proposals / plans, designs, rough staging site, locking blanks, etc.)
- 25% of Blanks paid upon first evolution
- 25% of Blanks paid 3 months after first evolution
Disclaimers
- Due to implementation complexity, we are going to start with the 10% royalty on Blank secondary sales going to the community treasury (any proceeds can only be allocated by community vote). We aim to implement artist royalties in the future but research still needs to be done. If we implement artist royalties, we will vote on the formula.
- We will do our best to follow the Darwin plan, but we may need to make slight adjustments. We can’t vote on every micro decision so we ask that by voting on this plan the community trusts us to make those decisions.
- We are taking an iterative approach to implementation. At the start, the site and UX will be simple and imperfect. If people use it, we plan to iteratively improve. This isn’t a project that will be perfect from day one.
- If this vote doesn’t pass and we pause the project we will do our best to support any community members that submit a proposal with next steps but we can’t make any promises about if/how we can be involved.
- Deadlines are estimates, not promises.
