BAS Beta Rewards 2.0 Proposals

The new proposed structures for the beta rewards program

Following on from the interruption of the beta rewards due to the following snapshot vote: https://snapshot.org/#/blockapescissorsdao.eth, we would like to present the new structure for the beta rewards as well as a variety of formats that we wish to present to holders in order to vote on the matter.

There were some clear issues in our previous beta program that led to excessive botting, ruining feedback, bas price action as well as the experience playing the game. The changes we are presenting are based upon some important conclusions we have reached regarding how to cultivate a healthy gaming experience for testers as well as to receive higher quality feedback and thus further improve the game.

2 Week Cycles

To match the development pipeline, which is now operating in 2 week cycles, we will also operate the beta rewards in 2 week cycles. This means that users will be able to lock in, play, submit feedback and collect rewards over 2 week periods, where each period will offer a survey specifically designed for that beta session. The 2 week cycles will be structured in the following way.

Week 1:

Monday - Release of new patch, NFT holders can lock in their champions for the 2 weeks and players can start playing towards survey unlocks. In this period NFT holders are still able to change champions or withdraw their NFTs, however no rewards or surveys are available. There is a 5 day period to select and lock in champions.

Friday - Players are 'locked' in, meaning only players who have been backed and locked in at that stage shall be able to complete a survey and receive rewards. Locked NFTs and BAS won't be withdrawable for 7 days now and holders won't be able to change their champions.

Week 2:

Monday - Survey is released and players who have completed 200 games will be able to complete it, players still working towards the target still have time to reach 200 games. 

Friday - Survey rewards are processed and distributed to NFT holders and champions who can withdraw them, players won't be able to receive surveys anymore and games played won't count towards any survey unlock. Locked funds are now unlocked again.

Sunday->Monday, Cycle restarts.

One Survey, Better feedback

There will only be one survey offered per 2 week cycle, with a single reward split between champions and nft holders. The team have decided that 200 games will be necessary to unlock the survey. This is around 5 hours of gameplay which we expect players to be able to easily complete over the 2 week cycle and should lead to better feedback and far less botting, as there is no incentive for bots to play the game 24/7. We will also be able to process the surveys in a far better way to extract meaningful information.

Higher Prerequisites

In order to protect BAS token holders, we are proposing that NFT holders lock BAS tokens alongside their NFTs in order to avoid damage to the ecosystem from third parties who are only interested in selling the token. We wish to reward our holders and community for their feedback in order to make a better game for us all.

The vote we are presenting is mostly be centred around what the community believes the prerequisites to participating in the beta rewards should be.

The following options are the prerequisites per champion.

Option 1

NFT Holder requirements: Gamester NFT + 1,000 BAS tokens Champion requirements: None Survey rewards: 60 BAS, 50%/50% split

Option 2

NFT Holder requirements: Gamester NFT + 2,000 BAS tokens Champion requiremens: None Survey rewards: 120 BAS, 75% Holder/25% Champion split

Option 3

NFT Holder requirements: Gamester NFT Champion requirements: None Survey rewards: 40 BAS, 50%/50% split

Option 4

NFT Holder requirements: Gamester NFT+2,000 BAS tokens Champion requiremens: 100 BAS tokens Survey rewards: 150 BAS, 75% Holder/25% Champion split

Option 5

NFT Holder requirements: Gamester NFT+3,000 BAS tokens Champion requiremens: 500 BAS tokens Survey rewards: 250 BAS, 50%/50% split

Option 6

None of the above, please work on a new proposal (This will delay the beta rewards).

The vote will last 48 hours and should one of the first 5 options be selected, the beta period will open on the 24th of January alongside the introduction of the God Mode Patch. We ask that everyone with NFTs currently still in the gamester farms withdraw them, upon withdrawal any unclaimed rewards for the NFT owner and champion will be sent directly to the respective wallets.

As we progress with the beta program, users will also be able to win bananas in games, building up their supplies leading up to the genesis mint with full game release. More information on these mechanics will be released in early February.
