This is a community proposal created by @FishxCD, @eranthe_arc, and the @Dreamy3 team (direct all questions and comments about the proposal to them), and introduced by the Bobu Committee.

Bobu Plushie

Executive Summary:

Dreamy3’s proposal aims to set things straight in the universe by developing a Bobu plushie that has already been developed into a prototype. Following this proposal’s approval, Dreamy3 will launch a limited time pre-sale of the first edition of the collectible Bobu plushie, followed by subsequent editions.

Dreamy3 is seeking a limited IP license to sell 5000 Bobu plushies. Dreamy3 is also seeking a grant to support the cost of goods sale for the initial Bobu presale. If sales surpass 200 units, the treasury will owe $350. If the team fails to sell any units in the pre-sale, the max exposure to the treasury is $4,200. Team:

The team behind the Bobu proposal consists of the following individuals:

• @FishxCD: handles operations and logistics
• @Ghost_Bolts: plushie master (quality control)
• @eranthe_arc: manages multimedia production and logistics
• @edwordkaru: concept and packaging designer

The Dreamy3 team has a wide range of skills, including business management, supply chain management, and over 5 years of eCommerce experience. Dreamy3 has also been actively selling Red and Blue Bean plushies for the past few months. Some of these plushies were given away to the community during Azuki Las Vegas in June.The Tubby Cat plushie is also currently available for sale on the website.

Dreamy3 is confident that we will be able to complete this proposal because we have already completed the prototyping process and have secured a strong relationship with our suppliers. We also understand that the Bobu community wants to expand Bobu’s culture to a wider audience and we are excited to contribute to this vision by bringing some of Steamboy’s iconic Azuki art into the physical world as something tangible, soft, and fun.

Benefits:

The creation of Bobu plushies would further develop the culture of Bobu as a character and Bobu as a community, as well as create another opportunity for a wider non-web3 audience to engage with Bobu’s IP. The keyword here is culture. Culture isn’t something built overnight. It doesn’t just appear. It takes years of naturally occurring cultural phenomenons. Each cultural brick builds on the next. This plushie is one of those bricks.

Grant Ask and Costs:

Dreamy3 would like to ask the Bobu treasury to cover the prototyping fee of $350 and to backstop the initial presale. In other words the Dreamy3 team is asking the treasury to help make the Bobu plushie a reality, regardless of what the initial demand of the plushie might be. If more than 200 units are sold, the treasury will owe nothing. If less than 200 units are sold, the treasury will support Dreamy3 in covering the COGS for any “unsold” presale units.

This brings the total maximum ask of the treasury to $4,200.

The Bobu plushies will be sold for $33.69 (excludes regional shipping fees). Shipping estimates will range between $12-20 due to the size of the Bobu box.

Milestones and Deliverables

• Prototyping - Complete
• Select manufacturer and negotiate price - Complete
• Obtain Commercial Rights for Bobu plushie design - Pending
• Create packaging design and order materials - Design Complete
• Launch pre-sale campaign and secure initial sales - Pending. The pre-sale will be open for one week.
• Campaign completion & shipping - Pending (estimated 68 week timeline). This stage includes production, packaging and shipping time. (note: shipping usually takes 24 weeks)
• Collect customer feedback and address any issues - Pending. This stage will occur during the duration of the campaign.
• Future plushie Iterations to be discussed and designed with the community - Pending. We will work with different communities and creators to create a curated limited drop or a seasonal design for the Bobu plushie.
• Upon reaching 5000 units sold, Dreamy3 will renegotiate & submit a renewal proposal for the Bobu plushie IP - Pending

Returns:

The treasury will receive $2 for every plushie sold.
