2024 Special Projects and Events Budget

SUMMARY: Boring Security is looking to allocate a portion of the treasury to fund initiatives including Special Projects and presence is Web 3 or NFT in-person events that will contribute to the growth of the DAO.

Special Projects will be focused on developing browser-based learning experiences that align to the DAO’s mission to spread security education in forms other than live-taught classes. Web 3 event presence includes global conventions, conferences, and summits that provide an opportunity to share Boring Security to a wider audience.

For the whole of 2024, we want to allocate 50,000 USD towards the development of Special Projects, and 20,000 USD to cover costs to be presented in select Web 3 events.

DETAILS: On Special Projects initiative: -The funding will be used to mainly to pay for the man hours of developers building the interface, and the tools and fees necessary to deploy the project

-Work towards the development of the Special Projects will not be compensated in the regular Payout Structure but paid out separately at a rate of $50/hour of dev work

-The objective of the end-product is to become a tool that is immersive, experiential, and engaging enough to able to asynchronously educate users on basic Web 3 security

-Will include other creative endeavors and commissions that will increase engagement and experience quality

On the Web 3 Event presence: -The Contributor should be attending an event wherein they are representing Boring Security at an official capacity

-Boring Security DAO should play a role in the event including but not limited to community partner, panelist, speaker, booth, side-event co-host, sponsor.

-Per diem rates provided to the Contributors will be based on the rates for event location as stated in https://www.perdiem101.com/. This rate covers lodging, meals, and incidental costs.

-Registration fees, sponsorship charges, etc. will be covered by the DAO and included in this budget

-Contributors can nominate events in which Boring Security can connect with

-The DAO will aim to have a presence in a minimum of two (2) Web 3 events this 2024
