DAO Vote #4 - v2 Go or No Go

Voting ended over 3 years agoSucceeded

Now that Boson Protocol v2 is ready to launch, our community will be making the “Go! or No-go!” decision.

The scope of this launch includes an initial set of open-source tools needed to support an ecosystem of dCommerce applications:

  • Core Protocol – Boson Protocol v2 smart contracts implement an efficient, optimistic fair-exchange protocol which enables the decentralized commercial exchange of any physical thing, without centralized intermediaries or trusted counterparties.
  • Core Component SDKs – A set of Javascript libraries that can be used to integrate Boson Protocol into any application.
  • Boson Flagship Dapp – Is an example application used to showcase how the Core Component SDKs can be used to build a decentralised commerce application on top of Boson Protocol.

Factors to consider when making the decision:

  • Boson Protocol v2 is the latest iteration, with an improved design that is described in detail in the whitepaper v2 link. Like its predecessor it has been meticulously tested and has now undergone two independent security audits, namely by Peckshield and Omniscia. The preliminary reports have demonstrated high quality in the codebase, having not identified any high-severity vulnerabilities. When the audit reports are complete, they will be shared with the community. The smart contracts themselves will be open-sourced and shared during the discussion period.
  • The utility of the Core Components SDKs is highlighted by the fact that the dApp has been built using the Core Components. The libraries provide interfaces and helper functions enabling application developers to integrate a dCommerce experience into their applications.
  • Furthermore, a bug bounty will be announced on its open-source tools, inviting security professionals and independent hackers to help solidify the tools that the future of commerce will be built upon.
