Project Description

Integrate Bkey to:

1. Create seed phrases and EVM accounts directly from a user’s biometrics
2. Create an encrypted cold storage backup of an account using biometrics
3. Transfer an account from one device to another using biometrics without the user having to manage the seed phrase
4. Account recovery based on a user’s biometrics

Project Goals

1. Remove the hassle of seed phrase management
2. Improve user experience by removing the need for username and password. Bkey will drive development of Bkey integration. We will request of technical support and guidance from the MetaMask team.

Target Milestones

Milestone 1: Adapting seed phrase generation from biometrics for use in a snap Objective: Adapt core functionality for creating EVM accounts using user biometrics. Deliverables: -EVM account creation integration Timeline: 2-3 weeks

Milestone 2: Encrypted Cold Storage Backup Objective: Adapt core functionality to allow for encrypted cold storage backup for EVM accounts using biometrics. Deliverables: -Cold storage backup system -User interface for backup management Timeline: 2-3 weeks

Milestone 3: Account Transfer via Biometrics Objective: Adapt core functionality to allow for EVM account transfer between devices using biometrics without seed phrase management. Deliverables: -Secure transfer protocol -Device pairing mechanism -User interface for account transfer Timeline: 3-4 weeks

Milestone 4: Biometric-Based Account Recovery Objective: Adapt our internal system for account recovery for use with a snap using user biometrics. Deliverables: -Recovery protocol design -Integration with existing account systems -User interface for recovery process Timeline: 3-4 weeks

Timeline / Path to Production

Week 1-2: Project kickoff, requirements gathering, and initial design Week 3-4: Adaptation of biometric data collection and seed phrase generation for use in EVM accounts Week 5-6: Adaptation of core technology for encrypted cold storage backup of EVM accounts Week 7-8: Adaptation of core technology to enable secure account transfer protocol for EVM accounts Week 9-10: Adaptation of core technology to enable EVM account recovery Week 11-12: Testing, bug fixing, and final adjustments Week 13-14: User acceptance testing and deployment

Development Costs: $60,000 Salaries for developers, testers, and project managers

Security and Compliance: $10,000 Security audits, compliance checks, and encryption tools

User Testing and Feedback: $5,000 User testing sessions, feedback collection, and iteration

Miscellaneous Costs: $5,000 Documentation, marketing, and other unforeseen expenses
