The MetaMask Grants DAO has approved a sub-DAO specifically for Snaps with a budget of 70k USDC per quarter. As part of our Open Beta, the Snaps team wishes to use this sub-DAO to cover the audit costs for teams joining our allowlist. A snap must meet the following criteria to be on the allowlist:
These audits can range from $1k to $30k or more and for some teams this cost can be onerous. If a Snap has a use case that we consider strategic (interoperability, security, communication, etc.) then it is in our best interest to help that Snap be part of our allowlist.
This proposal is for the MSQ Snap Category: interoperability
From the developer:
MSQ is a MetaMask Snap based wallet for the Internet Computer blockchain. It allows you to manage ICRC-1 assets, authorize and pay within dapps in a secure scam-resistant way.
Our long-term (5+ years) vision is that MSQ is a wallet that makes everyday spending easier than ever and is popular worldwide. Paying for services in crypto is hard (and expensive) for a regular user, but not with MSQ and the IC. Our mission is to help crypto reach global adoption and we believe that it is impossible to do, until wallets are harder than banking apps in terms of UX.
Our mid-term (1+ years) goal is to provide features to cover as many possible money-related everyday activities with MSQ as possible. We already assist with payments and donations, and we want to assist our users with many more things. We believe that money is for sharing, and we want to enable our users to share their money in every way in existence. Examples of features we have in mind right now:
Our short-term goal is to reach the audience with our ideas and software. We target two kinds of people:
Grant request: 25k USDC to cover the cost of the audit.
