The MetaMask Grants DAO has approved a sub-DAO specifically for Snaps with a budget of 70k USDC per quarter. As part of our Open Beta, the Snaps team wishes to use this sub-DAO to cover the audit costs for teams joining our allowlist. A snap must meet the following criteria to be on the allowlist:
These audits can range from $1k to $30k or more and for some teams this cost can be onerous. If a Snap has a use case that we consider strategic (interoperability, security, communication, etc.) then it is in our best interest to help that Snap be part of our allowlist.
This proposal is for the onthis.xyz Snap Category: security
From the developer:
Onthis makes onchain actions simple and safe. We do this by creating Shortcuts, which allow users to send funds to human-readable contracts to bridge, swap, stake, mint, and more directly from your wallet.
Example: A user wants to bridge to base. Shortcut: Send ETH -> "toBase.eth" directly in your MetaMask.
Our goals are to reach 1000 ETH in cumulative volume and have 500 unique users.
One key feedback we have from users is that they would like to see more information about Shortcuts while transacting via MetaMask.
Our responsibility is to build a Snap that would enhance the user experience directly in the MetaMask wallet.
The final thing we are looking for is an audit of our Snap, and audits are expensive.
The immediate milestone is to get our audit done and get our Snap into production with the support of MetaMask.
The longer-term milestones are more ETH volume and unique users. Which will help us get feedback on what's working with the Snap and what we can improve. We can use this feedback to enhance the Snaps ecosystem.
We are ready to go to production, we have deployed a local tested version of our Snap and now are awaiting an audit.
Grant request: 3375 USDC to cover the cost of the audit.
