CIP-3: Blast Gold distribution adjustment

Summary

The holders of Captain & Company ships (the “Shipholders”) propose exploring an adjustment of the distribution methodology and timing for Blast Gold.

The status quo to-date has been to distribute gold on the next-upcoming MMR snapshot after receiving a distribution from Blast.

The proposals put forth by the Shipholders include methodologies to "extend" the Gold distribution period to ensure greater participation for longer in the game.

Important Note: Blast Gold is a points system maintained by Blast, and the distribution of such is always ultimately up to the final discretion of Blast. The results of this vote, unlike other Captain & Company assetholder-only votes, are therefore subject to any final adjustments by Blast.

Rationale

Extending the Gold distribution timeline by moving some portion of this cycle's allocated gold to some near-term set of future weeks will smooth the distribution and keep user interest in the game and ecosystem assets higher for longer.

This would increase the expected output of future ships (as more Gold would be shifted to the future), but decrease the expected output of past mBLAST farmed, as a portion of the Gold that would have been allocated to players who have already farmed mBLAST would then be shifted forward by some series of weeks.

Implications

• Some portion of this cycle's Blast Gold would be set aside and distributed over a future period prior to the Blast airdrop
• This proposal, unlike others in this forum, is non-binding and subject to Blast's approval and comment in the case that it passes

Options

1. Distribute all Blast Gold on the weekly MMR reset following the receipt of such Gold
2. Initially distribute 50% of Blast Gold on the weekly MMR reset following the receipt of such Gold, and 25% of Blast Gold at the end of each of the following two weeks
3. Initially distribute 50% of Blast Gold on the weekly MMR reset following the receipt of such Gold, and 12.5% of Blast Gold at the end of each of the following four weeks
