Budget allocation for EW node

Voting ended almost 4 years agoSucceeded

Hello iinus, we are calling upon you to gather your voice in the decision of using some of the liquidity that the LP safe holds. This would be used in order to purchase hardware that would allow EnergyWeb DOGE to run its own node for the EnergyWeb Chain.

The hardware list is available in the discord thread called Hardware Budget Proposal, and is totalling around 1500$ USD or ~ 300 EWT. At the time of writing, it would be equal to 5% of the EWT liquidity in the EWT-EWD pool. Another option would be to use some of the SUSU part of our LP holdings. That would be around 167k SUSU (10% of the liquidity in the EWD-SUSU pool). *Note that ALL SUSU in the LP has been generated through the 0,75% tax.

Why run a node on our own server? One of the main reason is to cut down on monthly costs for server rentals that Vulcan is currently paying from his own pockets. On top of that, we would like to launch our own subgraph and in order to have a graph you need a full node with Pruning set to Archive. This nearly doubles amount of space needed on the machine (which is why hosting a node on a VPS is quite costly)

The public EWC rpc node isn't set to Archive mode and it also has query limits. If we had a personal node we could query the Blockchain freely and pull ANY data at anytime.

So dear iinus, let's hear you bark !
