Proposal To Create a New/Upgraded Nyolings Collection called NyoVerse on the Polygon Blockchain

Relevant Statistics: 257 Nyolings have been upgraded, 325 ultimate flowers have been minted but remain unused. 1,640 nyolings remain staked.

Intro: The purpose of this proposal is to set forth action to solve multiple problems currently affecting the Nyolings community. The first problem is the problem of royalties. Marketplaces have stopped enforcing royalties on old collections. Our new collection will be coded to enforce a 5% creator royalty on each sale, which will be an important source of revenue going forward. The second problem to be addressed is holder sentiment and the change of rarities that came from Moxxy’s upgrade. To solve this we will restore the original collection to its original images and rarity. Holders will be able to keep their original Nyoling and claim their upgraded Nyoling from the NyoVerse contract for free. Holders of Upgraded Nyolings (and all currently staked Nyolings) will receive their NyoVerse airdropped. This claim will cost gas, on the polygon blockchain, where transaction fees are paid in Matic. The Nyolings team will take a snapshot of ALL holders. Every holder of un-upgraded, unstaked Nyolings included in the snapshot will be able to sign a GASLESS transaction (sign only) to claim a small amount of Matic to cover the new NFT claim. Giving away this small amount of gas money solves the problem of holders having to use a bridge to make their claims. Also, With the NyoVerse on a new contract, this will allow us to fix the metadata issue that occurred with the seal beanie traits being labeled as pink straw hat. These fixes will be delivered by lin and his development team. The cost is 2 eth. Reimbursing Matic gas fees will cost about $100

General outline of the process to begin immediately upon vote passing:

Communicate to holders on Twitter, Discord, and wechat that this will be happening and give them plenty of time to prepare for the snapshot and claim. Stop the upgrade service on flowers.nyolings.io Snapshot of all Nyolings holders Unupgraded, unstaked Nyolings will be included in the claim. Upgraded and staked Nyolings will be included in the airdrop. New contract is minted on the Polygon blockchain with 7,777 NyoVerse Airdrop to all upgraded and all staked Nyolings. All snapshotted addresses of unupgraded and unstaked Nyolings will be able to claim their NyoVerse on the Polygon blockchain. The claim will be open for a month to allow for sufficient time to communicate with holders. The Nyolings team will offer Matic via a gasless claim to the snapshotted addresses. Anyone who has bought an upgraded Nyoling or upgraded their own Nyoling will get their token airdropped, as specified in step 5 (254) Original Nyolings collection will be rolled back to the original images and metadata by changing the Base uri on the contract After the claim window we will move the NyoVerse collection to a public sale. After public sale closes the remaining New Nyolings will be held by the team treasury for future use

Personal thoughts from Cat 5:

After careful thought and discussion with lin, this method seems to be best for the long term success of the Nyolings team and also holders that have dedicated their time and eth to upgrading their Nyolings. Holders who felt like their Nyolings were not an upgrade will be able to have their original Nyolings back and the rarity of the original collection will be restored. The new collection will offer us a chance to produce revenue and royalties for future plans and activations. Personally, I do not see this as over-supply or dilution, but as a way to grow our Nyolings family and welcome new holders.

I realize opening up shop on polygon can be scary but I think it is a chance to embrace a technology that is actively solving the gas fee problem, and polygon nfts, altcoins, and defi definitely have a future. trump, reddit, and degods have all had massive success on polygon with their collections so it’s not like a barren wasteland over there or anything.

I understand one concern may be that there is low volume on polygon, but there’s low volume on eth rn too. its hard to imagine gas "cooling down" anytime in the near future, and that might have a very longterm negative affect on NFTs, old collections and new. when attention does return to NFTs, im predicting that attention will be spread to other chains due to fees. the narrative around L2s has been building for a few years now and with these pioneering collections like trump, reddit, and yoots, the barrier to entry has already broken a bit. we will still have our og collection on eth, giving holders and prospective buyers a choice between L1 and L2
