Reimbursement Request for Funds utilized at the Blockchain Devfest, Kampala (24th June, 2023)

I am writing to request reimbursement of funds amounting to $ 365 that were utilized during our participation in the Blockchain Devfest held in Kampala on 24th June 2023. Our team(Ahimbisibwe Brisa & Mukunde Brisa) represented Celo and played a significant role in creating awareness and promoting the Celo ecosystem, facilitating onboarding for hundreds of attendees, and achieving notable success in the hackathon.

The event provided an excellent platform for us to engage with the vibrant blockchain community in Kampala and share the benefits and opportunities the Celo blockchain offers. We had an opportunity to participate as panellists and held a side-event workshop, presentations, and hands-on demonstrations at the hackathon, which were well-received by the attendees.

Our efforts were highly fruitful, as we successfully onboarded hundreds of individuals to the Celo ecosystem via the booth setup leading them to subscribe to Celo ecosystem platforms i.e. social media platforms and newsletters, introducing them to its unique features, such as mobile-based accessibility, low-cost transactions, and financial inclusion. The event served as an ideal avenue to showcase Celo's potential for driving social impact and fostering economic empowerment in underserved communities.

Furthermore, our participation in the hackathon yielded remarkable results. We mentored and guided numerous teams, resulting in two outstanding projects being crowned as winners i.e. YogroCeloStore and YOB, a ticketing service or solution built on Celo. This achievement not only demonstrated the technical expertise and innovation of the Celo platform but also highlighted the effectiveness of our team's support and guidance.

To ensure a successful representation of Celo, we incurred several expenses, including swag t-shirts, stickers, Booth table cloth and facilitation. A detailed breakdown of these expenses can be found on the link below and corresponding receipts for the reference.

These funds will enable us to maintain our commitment to future engagements, empower our team members, and continue advocating for the Celo ecosystem's growth and adoption.
