African Community Moderation /Engagement (Telegram & Discord)

Greetings Celo fam!

I’m Anthony Niragire from Uganda. On discord I’m @0xknight256 and on telegram I’m @AnthonyNiragire, A community moderator in Celo discord and telegram since 2021. I have been an active member of Celo community helping the community in different areas, mostly in discord and telegram on both technical and non technical issues, guiding users and developers on how to use and interact with different dapps across Celo ecosystem, making sure all their questions and concerns are answered in time.

Details: I would like to propose an African community fund to help engage and increase developer numbers in our African community in Celo discord => sub channel #Africa and Telegram Chat: @CeloAfrica

OBJECTIVES

• To provide full community coverage from 7am-8PM EAT, 24/7 except sleeping hours.
• To answer developer/user questions in timely manner ie 1-20 mins response time.
• To make sure the African community channels are well engaged by sharing useful content, news related to Celo ecosystem and African community.
• To encourage more usage of the publicly available resources from https://docs.Celo.org for developers.
• To help grow the channels to more than 500 active users and developers within 6 months.
• To improve activities in the African channels.
• Push developer news/resources to the African community.

SUCCESS METRICS

• By providing 24/7 channel coverage, I will make sure the users’ questions are answered in time and we will achieve atleast 90% user/developer satisfaction.
• 500 active users and developers in the channels within 5 months
• 100+ developers from Africa within the first 3 months.
• 20 daily active users/developers in the channel (Discord + telegram) with a message count of atleast 30 daily on average within the first 3 months.

Budget Breakdown: Personal funding for 5 months: $1000, this includes my personal expenses when doing the job like internet bill, premium payments for bots in the community if they will be required and other personal expenses.
