Celo Africa DAO Presence at the Africa’s Talking Summit

Greetings Community I am writing to request a $150 financial contribution to support the Celo Africa DAO's presence at the upcoming Africa Talking Summit. Our participation in this event will enable us to engage with the community, run workshops to build on Celo and MiniPay, showcase our projects, and strengthen our network within the Celo ecosystem.

The Africa Talking Summit is an essential event for us to:

1. Raise awareness: It provides us with an opportunity to introduce Celo and its potential to a wider audience.
2. Network: The event will bring together key players in the blockchain and fintech industry, allowing us to build relationships with potential partners, collaborators, and investors.
3. Showcase projects: We intend to present various initiatives and projects that we have been working on to demonstrate the impact and relevance of Celo technology in the African context.
4. Reach a large and engaged audience: The summit attracts hundreds of developers from across East Africa who would be the ideal audience for the upcoming Minipay launch in Kenya.
5. Position Celo and MiniPay as leaders in the African Web3 space: Given that the event attracts some of the best Web2 developers, Celo and Minipay could be ideal introductions to leveraging Web3 in their builds.

Strategy:

1. Code Jam Workshop
2. Keynote

The summit offers a great opportunity for a keynote address and a workshop on Saturday. The Keynote would be the ideal introduction opportunity to the developer audience and the workshop would be the follow up activity for developers to start building on Minipay.

Metrics that we intend to achieve from the Africa’s Talking Summit

1. 3 partnership leads generated from the event joining the Minipay Ecosystem.
2. 20 developers Building on Minipay from the Summit
3. 10 developers joining the Build With Minipay Hackathon
4. 15 Celo Contract kit downloads

Funding Allocation:

We are requesting $150 to cover expenses associated with our presence at the Africa Talking Summit.

Impact:

With your financial support, we aim to maximize our presence at the Africa Talking Summit, contributing to the broader Celo ecosystem and furthering the adoption of Celo and MiniPay in Africa.
