This Poll seeks to determine whether the XCN community supports increasing the minimum requirement to create a poll on polls.onyx.org from the current 10,000,000 XCN to 50,000,000 XCN.
The purpose of this poll is to improve the efficiency and signal quality of the Onyx polling system while ensuring proposals demonstrate meaningful economic alignment with the network.
Over recent weeks, a large number of polls were submitted through the Onyx governance interface outside of the formal Onyx Improvement Proposal (OIP) process. Because the capital requirement to create polls was relatively low, this resulted in a high volume of low-effort or procedurally invalid proposals, which diluted governance signal and reduced the efficiency of the polling system.
Increasing the poll creation requirement to 50,000,000 XCN is intended to reduce spam and ensure that proposals appearing in the polling system reflect stronger economic alignment.
Community members can still coordinate governance participation through Snapshot vote delegation, allowing token holders to delegate voting power to trusted representatives or community leaders in order to support proposals.
Currently, creating a poll on polls.onyx.org requires 10,000,000 XCN. This proposal would increase that requirement to 50,000,000 XCN.
This vote addresses only the poll creation requirement.
No other components of the polling system are being modified, including but not limited to:
• Voting mechanics • Quorum requirements • Vote duration • Execution processes • Governance permissions • Platform functionality
If approved, the only change implemented will be increasing the minimum requirement to create a poll from 10,000,000 XCN to 50,000,000 XCN.
This poll does not retroactively alter previous proposals or voting outcomes.
