This Poll seeks to determine whether the XCN community supports aligning the poll quorum requirement on polls.onyx.org with the OIP quorum of 200,000,000 XCN, increasing it from the current 100,000,000 XCN.
The purpose of this poll is to bring the polling system into alignment with the quorum standard used for Onyx OIPs, ensuring consistency across governance processes while strengthening the integrity of community signaling.
Historically, polls were intended to serve as a mechanism for gauging meaningful community sentiment prior to or alongside formal governance proposals. Aligning the poll quorum with the 200M XCN OIP quorum better reflects this original governance concept by requiring broader participation for a poll to reach quorum.
Increasing the quorum threshold also helps reduce the potential for outcomes to be disproportionately influenced by a small number of large wallets, ensuring that poll results more accurately represent wider community participation.
Currently, polls on polls.onyx.org require 100,000,000 XCN participation to reach quorum. This proposal would increase that requirement to 200,000,000 XCN.
This vote addresses only the poll quorum requirement.
No other components of the poll system are being modified, including but not limited to:
• Voting mechanics • Proposal creation requirements • Vote duration • Execution processes • Governance permissions • Platform functionality
If approved, the only change implemented will be increasing the poll quorum requirement from 100,000,000 XCN to 200,000,000 XCN.
This poll does not retroactively alter previous proposals or voting outcomes. Its scope is strictly limited to adjusting the quorum requirement for polls.
