Thesis:

The purpose of this proposal is to create a process of building project groups that are in line with the values of the community.

Description:

Creating a new project should follow these guidelines in chronological order.

1. Discussion: The idea should stem from multiple members of Chicago DAO proficiently discussing an idea and workshopping it within the respective community of the DAO. Public discussion will happen in the #discussion channel.
2. Once there are multiple supporters and participant in the group, they should fill out a proposal template for this cause.
3. This template includes:
   1. The idea
   2. Purpose of the project
   3. Expected requirements
      1. What does it take to be successful?
4. Reasoning
5. Project Process
   1. How will they function in a decentralized manner?
6. Advisor - Alumni or faculty
7. Timeline
8. Legal
   1. A project group will need collaboration with the legal team if it involves monetized processes.
9. Funding
   1. *Funding is on hold until further notice.

⚠️ Note: All of these aspects of the proposal are required. If they are not sufficient, the proposal is not expected to pass.

A proposal for a new project will follow the same governance process. This process can be found here. If a project proposal fails, creating members should analyze if the community against the project or it simply needs more work. If a proposal needs more work, it should skip a governance cycle (1 week) before being proposed again - unless there is a time crises in which members can argue that it be proposed the following governance cycle.

Risks:

The community should actively monitor this process and tweak it as to not let projects act in a malicious manner.

Timeline:

This should be implemented immediately.'
