Proposal 29 - Phunkbot / Gitbook

i. Brief History and background behind this proposal:

1/2 PhunkBot


PhunkBot or FlippinBot is twitter sales bot we all cherish and love. 2 years ago on 04/07/2021, after OpenSea got forced to relist Phunks for second time, I created PhunkBot and Phunks volume absolutely exploded. Quickly people started to love it and it became important pilar of our community .. till this day. Image (Link: https://twitter.com/PhunkBot) In the background, this past 2 years I spent countless hours making sure PhunkBot keeps running and gets updated especially in the crucial times in 2021 when we got cancelled/delisted by OpenSea for the third and finally time and we were left only with cargo marketplace. Bot was bugging and crashing and volume was exploding, I remember staying up for like 72h to keep bot running just to keep up the momentum. Since then FlippinBot successfully processed 17.3k tweets. 🤯 PhunkBot is part of phunks/our history that we all need to preserve, Elon Musk decided to cancel free API Elevated access and for the first time after 2 years .. PhunkBot is down. Twitter is now asking $100/mo for the same API access needed to get our beloved FlippinBot online. Beside new cost plan there are also running cost for server I have been covering for past 2 years, also time it takes/took daily to keep this Bot going I would like to ask community to cover it with phunks treasury.

2/2 Phunks GitBook


Phunks Gitbook or Phunks Knowledge Base is my endeavour to preserve Phunks history and give quick access to all informations about phunks in one place. Special focus being on preserving culture and web3 values phunks are build on. Since its inception, 1 year ago on 22/06/2022, first 6 month its average traffic was around 1000 visits a month that now slightly went down to average of 500 visits .. every single month.

First 3 months of Phunks GitBook it took me in average 6 to 8 hours a day to design, compile all the information and find all the Articles and Links ever written about Phunks. Make sure to check phunks.gitbook.io you might just get blown away. I would love to keep working on Phunks knowledge Base and it would be a small price to pay for how beneficial it has/is been to our community. Proof of work: https://github.com/phunksbot/wiki

ii. What value does it add to the CryptoPhunks collection/community.

PhunkBot aka FlippinBot has in avarage 200k immpressions a month (in a bear market), it’s a great tool to keep up with market activities and awesome marketing tool. In crucial times when our community was challenged by corporations and delistings phunkbot was that breath of fresh air that kept community positive, engaged and motivated and it still does.

Phunks knowledge base contains detailed history about Phunks, it explains why they are such important part of NFT history. It contains links to all the Articles (86) and Twitter threads (100) ever written about Phunks. It curates Tools and Art made by Phunk community and preserves all the links to all open sourced tools ever made by Phunks. It also tracks treasury transaction history and running Phunks Town Hall twitter spaces by @og kenobi. You can say it’s a hub for developers and enthusiast, an go to place to learn and get inspired for future contributions/contributors.

Past maintenance: Server cost for the past two years // $20/mo x 24mo = $480 Server Administration and Bot Maintenance // $50/hr (median) x 1hr/wk x 24mo= $5,200 Future maintenance (for the next two years): Server cost // $20/mo x 24mo = $480 Server Administration and Bot Maintenance // $50/hr (median) x 1hr/wk x 24mo = $5,200 Twitter basic (paid) API for PhunkBot // $100 x 24mo = $2,400 (for next 2 years)

Total Treasury spend $21,560 USDC
