Stewardship Team Proposal (Governance Committee)

Voting ended about 3 years agoSucceeded

Community Stewards

Community Stewards are an elected board of community members that work alongside the Core Team to make up the Governance Committee.

Introduction

The Stewardship Team will consist of 3 high-context community members working alongside the Core Team (Core Team + Stewards = Governance Committee) who will provide leadership and direction to the DAO, establish priorities, and help manage proposals and projects on behalf of all members. The Governance Committee will be able to solve critical problems within the COLORSxCOMMUNITY, such as developing a clear roadmap or DAO-wide understanding of what projects are most urgent.

Why?

COLORSxCOMMUNITY greatly benefits from a strong sense of direction. The vast majority of DAO members understandably do not have a clear idea of the following:

  • Short-term objectives or goals.
  • DAO Priorities.
  • Currently operating projects/initiatives and where projects can collaborate.

This lack of awareness creates a massive barrier to efficient output and forward progress.

As proposals begin coming in for Season 1, the COLORSxCOMMUNITY also needs a team of people who can work alongside project leads, monitor expenses, and keep others up to date on projects and initiatives. This team also works to make sure proposals are aligned with the goals of the season. This season, we are prioritizing revenue generating projects to help sustain our community.

Responsibilities of Community Stewards

The Stewards will be responsible for:

Facilitating DAO-wide Clarity and Focus

The Governance Committee will host a meeting at least once every two weeks (but up to as many times as is valuable) to discuss DAO issues, governance, compensation, treasury, ongoing projects, priorities, roadmap, goals/objectives, and any other important matters. This will be a time for existing members to tune in to hear the latest weekly developments.

The Governance Committee will also regularly update asynchronous materials that facilitate clarity, such as Notion documentation and the website.

Managing Proposals and the Treasury

The Governance Committee will review project proposals and discuss compensation, collaborations, expectations, and timelines with project leads. Proposals will be moved to Snapshot for a community vote once the project’s scope and compensation are aligned with the DAO’s priorities. The Governance Committee will monitor projects after they have passed through Snapshot and hold them accountable to ensure that the DAO gets as much value out of its time and treasury as possible.

The Governance Committee will also work alongside community members to help submit requests for new projects to facilitate an easier way for contributors to become Project Leads.

Administration

This includes controlling permissions for the DAO treasury, Discord, and Notion + making sure all necessary documentation is updated concerning the ongoing projects.

Compensation

1000 USDC Per Steward (Compensation does not apply to the COLORS Core team or Emily in this case.)

Defining Success

This team’s objective is relatively ambiguous, therefore we’d like to pre-define a series of ways to determine if this team is operating successfully.

  • Has the Governance Committee hosted consistent bi-weekly meetings?
  • Have the Governance Committee meetings been well run, open to ‘Founding Pass’ Holders, & helpful?
  • Have the stewards helped people turn ideas into specific actionable proposals?
  • Has the Governance Committee vetted proposals? Helping good ideas turn into proposals and giving constructive feedback on ideas potentially misaligned with current season’s goals.
  • Has the Governance Committee remained engaged with project leaders offering support as they need?
  • Have the stewards remained contextually aware of the large initiatives the DAO is pursuing to provide maximum context for decision-making?
  • Have the stewards operated in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of our DAO?
