Curatorial board for the Community NFT Gallery: Elections

Summary

We are electing a board of five curators for our upcoming community NFT gallery. This gallery, also a marketplace, will allow the community to launch NFT projects and participate in their profits.

The curatorial board will be responsible for sourcing the first season of artists & artworks to feature.

We are using weighted voting. You can cast your votes on any number of applicants. Your vote will be distributed across those applicants.

For example, if you hold 1 Founding Pass NFT and vote on 4 applicants, your votes count as 0.25 vote per applicant. If you have 2 NFTs and vote on 4, each vote counts as 0.5.

Criteria

The Curatorial Board is intended to be:

• Committed. These should be people who can be counted on to follow through.
• Experienced. Anyone can have an opinion about art, but to curate is to understand art’s context and audience perceptions. It also means having an appreciation for the impact of thoughtful curation.
• Multidisciplinary. We will be highlighting various art forms including music and more visual forms of art.
• Reflective of the community, but also the art from around the world we aim to represent.

Compensation

10% of all Community NFT Gallery's sales will go towards the curators. It will be divided among curators based on various assessments of their efforts and impact.

Meanwhile, 50% goes to the artists and 40% is paid forward into the COLORSxCOMMUNITY treasury for future projects, grants & operational costs.

After the elections

The core team will reach out to the applicants to validate whether they understand the goals and are ready to commit to this project. If not, the next runner-up will be contacted and invited to the curatorial board.

The curatorial board will be expected to appoint a project lead. The board will be announced in our next Town Hall on September 6.

The curatorial board will take seat for 1 season.
