DIP-11 - Launch Community DAOs Treasuries and grant $RICE

Synopsis

Suggest that DAOSquare Community DAOs establish treasuries and offer $RICE grants to help DAOs secure initial funds for their treasuries.

Motivation

Currently, there are two DAOs with relatively clear goals in DAOSquare community has two DAOs, they are:

DAO² - Committed to the dissemination of valuable content and content creation.

The ultimate goal of the DAOSquare community is to build a service network (or service marketplace) under the theme of Crypto entrepreneurship and innovation, which has the ability to provide various services and support for startups and innovators, thus helping startups and innovators grow healthily. This is also an important part of the DAOSquare incubator (or referred to as soft infra).

We prefer to see service providers that are initiated and operated by the community, because they have multiple roles. They are the servers of these startups, but also users, testers, developers, token holders (stakeholders), and even governors. This is the essential difference and advantage over institutional service providers. Especially when this model reaches a large scale, its advantages will be far greater than institutional service providers.

However, it is relatively difficult for community-based service providers to start from scratch. They lack initial funding support and find it difficult to provide stable income for participants to maintain their involvement. As a result, the initial capabilities of community-based service providers tend to be weak.

There are two ways to solve this problem:

• Find suitable paying customers for these community-based service providers.
• Provide initial funding support for these community-based service providers.

The first point is direct motivation, which can bring them direct confidence and allow them to invest time in participating in work. The second point tends more towards spiritual motivation, by allowing participants to co-own and co-manage the treasury, they feel the value of the community-based service provider (DAO) and their value.

DAOSquare and I are working on these two points, helping these DAOs find suitable paying customers. At the same time, as you can see from this proposal, I suggest providing these DAOs with some $RICE, to help them establish a treasury as a morale boost.

Allocate $RICE to active DAOs that contribute to the realization of DAOSquare community ultimate goals, to help them establish treasuries. Here are some rules, which will become the guide (v1.0) for the $RICE Distribution Of DAOSquare Community DAOs Treasuries.

How much $RICE can a DAO get?

• 50,000 $RICE

Which DAOs can apply for $RICE Distribution Of DAOSquare Community DAOs Treasuries?

• Initiated by DAOSquare community members (Passport or Cafeteria).
• Its business scope is consistent with the ultimate goal of the DAOSquare community.
• Has fixed contributors.
• Has ongoing work.
• Has future plans.
• Has a Safe wallet (currently only supports Gnosischain) controlled jointly by DAO members as the treasury of the DAO.

How to apply for $RICE Distribution Of DAOSquare Community DAOs Treasuries?

• Submit a proposal (with Transfer Action) follow the template.
• When the vote is passed, $RICE will automatically be transferred to the DAO's treasury.

Who has the right to decide the $RICE distribution for the community DAOs treasury?

• Passport and Cafeteria members have the right to support the proposal during the temperature check period.
• Cafeteria members have the right to vote on the proposal.

Rationale

The purpose of summoning those true builders who can jointly promote the ultimate goal of the DAOSquare community is the meaning of the DAOSquare community, and it is also one of the important meanings of $RICE's existence.

Risks

Technically, there is a possibility of colluding with the governor to defraud $RICE. But according to the current reputation of the Cafeteria members, this risk level is low.

Timeline

When the proposal is passed, the plan is implemented immediately and open the applications.
