BIP-5: Funding via Treasury ETH

Voting ended over 3 years agoSucceeded

Background

Building one of the first Massively Multiplayer On Chain Composable Games (MMOCCG) has presented an enormous opportunity, and we are starting to get a lot more eyes on the project (special thanks to the Lords who voyaged to Amsterdam - winning the competition and making some strong industry connections).

The 11 Core Lords (and countless community members) have built an amazing base to iterate on since September 2021 (with no remuneration beyond a percentage of mint fees thus far). After internal discussion - we believe the Bibliotheca project has reached a stage where an allocation of Eth will enable the (growing) team of developers to more rapidly release the expansive feature set we have planned for the next few months (and beyond). At this stage, we believe it better to distribute the accumulated ETH rather than additional LORDS issuance from the DAO Treasury. To date no allocated LORDS has vested for any contributors, and will not vest until game has gone live.

Future Funding

We are in high level talks at the moment with outside potential investors, however like anything in the DAO all funding via DAO assets would need to be voted on.

Proposal

The proposal seeks a bulk allocation of 100 Eth to pay core developers between 0.5 and 2 Eth per month, and provides funding for minor external tasks to be completed. The funds would be administered by the Core team, and is believed to be approximately 6-7 months worth of expenditure. Once expense patterns are more established, DAO procedures will be developed for more granular reporting and approval of expenditures.
