What charity should we donate 5 eth to?

So many of you shared charities that were near and dear to your heart, and ones that you felt aligned with our project. We cannot even begin to express our gratitude, an absolute true testimony to this incredible community. For the folks that do not see their recommendations, please know we have made a running list so as we continue this journey, those are charities we hope to give back to in the future.

This community in and of itself has changed so many lives including our own. So this is our time, as a Goon Fam, to give back.

Here is a list of the 4 charities, including their mission, and direct links to their sites.

CNY Arts (Sean’s selection) https://www.cnyarts.org

Mission: CNY Arts' mission is to promote, support, and celebrate arts and culture in Central New York.

CNY provides support and assistance to individual artists and arts and cultural organizations through access grants, capacity-building assistance, and educational training. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion are fundamental values and central tenants of their work.

National Alliance on Mental Illness www.nami.org

Mission: NAMI provides advocacy, education, support and public awareness so that all individuals and families affected by mental illness can build better lives.

NAMI’s pillars are educate, advocate, listen and lead. They are known for their education of mental illness in communities across the US offering programs to give support to both individuals and families. They are an advocate for public policy ensuring communities have the resources and skills to save and support mental health initiatives.

Wounded Warrior Project https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org

Mission: Every warrior has a next mission. We know that the transition to civilian life is a journey. And for every warrior, family member, and caregiver, that journey looks different. We are here for their first step, and each step that follows. Because we believe that every warrior should have a positive future to look forward to. There’s always another goal to achieve, another mission

Wounded Warrior Project is an organization that aids in the support of Veterans and Service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness or wound while serving in the military on or after September 11, 2001. discover. We are their partner in that mission.

Face It Foundation https://www.faceitfoundation.org

Mission: Face It was founded in 2009 with the goal to help men understand and overcome depression, and reduce the rate of male suicide. We provide men’s support groups, one-on-one peer support, outreach events, public education, and training for mental health professionals.

Face It has done substantial research in understanding the barriers to seeking help and have designed support services accordingly. They have created an online support center where men can chat anonymously with other men who understand because they too have battled with depression. They have been an advocate for the peer community, educating men on the fact that they are not alone in the struggle. And, that reaching out for help is one of the strongest things they can do. All of their services are at no cost as they believe that cost should never prevent a man from getting the support he needs.
