The DAO wants to purchase a Shrine.
The new forge interface will use this DAO owned Shrine as the default shrine selection.
This enables new or casual users to ignore the step of selecting a shrine.
The DAO needs to decide on these details:
- How do we acquire 42 Karma Crystals?
- What do we do with the 10,000 $CANDLE that should be spent on the Shrine?
- What Fee do we set?
These will be split into three simultaneous proposals
3. What Fee should we set?
- NOTE: Shrines charge a $CANDLE fee per crystal forged. The maximum fee is 100 $CANDLE. The DAO already receives 1% of the fees charged at existing shrines. Existing fees (set by each individual owner) range from 5 $CANDLE to 30 $CANDLE, with an average of 14 $CANDLE.
Option 1: MAXIMUM - 100 $CANDLE
- Pros: More $CANDLE generated for the DAO, allows existing Shrine Owners to compete with the DAO Shrine at any lower fee.
- Cons: New users will be using the most expensive Shrine by default. Regardless of how clear we make that fact, they may be upset when they learn how the full system works.
Option 2: Max Existing - 30 $CANDLE
- Pros: Existing Shrine Owners can still remain competitive without lowering their fees.
- Cons: New users will be using the most expensive Shrine by default. But in this case it will be within the existing range.
Option 3: Average - 14 $CANDLE
- Pros: New users will be using a competitively price Shrine by default.
- Cons: The DAO is undercutting existing market prices set by Shrine Owners.
Option 4: Min existing - 5 $CANDLE
- Pros: New users will be using the cheapest Shrine by default.
- Cons: The DAO is undercutting existing market prices set by Shrine Owners.
