This proposed CGP describes the bi-annual budget of the Everclear Community Leaders for Q1 and Q2 of 2025. The Community Leaders of the Everclear ecosystem are tasked with providing necessary functions to the Everclear ecosystem within the areas of community, support, marketing, and education in an effort to help in maintaining seamless operations, delivering outstanding customer experiences, and strategically growing the protocol.
The Everclear Community Leader Sub-DAO is a decentralized, community-governed entity that was approved via voting on Snapshot by the Everclear DAO in February 2024. Along with the governance vote, the responsibility for compensating contributors (such as moderators/ambassadors) and funding community initiatives was shifted into the hands of the Everclear Community Leader Sub-DAO as a decentralized, community-governed entity in the ecosystem. This proposal reflects the changes of the tasks and objectives of the Everclear Community Leader Sub-DAO in light of the rebranding of Connext to Everclear and the accompanying changes in the strategic orientation.
Community Leaders are Core Contributors to the Everclear ecosystem as per the DAO Docs and focus on areas such as user support, marketing, growth, education, and community management. As such, Community Leaders provide essential functions for maintaining, developing, and growing the Everclear ecosystem. This CGP provides Community Leaders with the funds necessary to continue supporting the Everclear ecosystem.
For an overview of the key terminology of this proposal and the mission of the Community Leaders Sub-DAO, please have a look at the original Community Leader Incentivization proposal.
Presently, the Community Leader team receiving fixed payments consists of:
The following provides an overview into how the past budget approved via GCP 16 was used. The Community Leadership Sub-DAO received a quarterly budget of 566.598 tokens.
The following provides an overview of how the funds were used.
| Item | Funding (Token) | Description |
|---|---|---|
| May Compensation | 56,806.66 | Base compensation for CAs & Mods. |
| June Compensation | 41,761.02 | Base compensation for CAs & Mods. |
| July Compensation | 47,131.41 | Base compensation for CAs & Mods. |
| August Compensation | 74,347.31 | Base compensation for CAs & Mods. |
| September Compensation | 85,316.21 | Base compensation for CAs & Mods. |
| October Compensation | 88,537.12 | Base compensation for CAs & Mods. |
| November Compensation | 95,070.06 | Base compensation for CAs & Mods. |
| December Compensation | 79,762.58 | Base compensation for CAs & Mods. |
| January Compensation | 21,270.02 | Base compensation for CAs & Mods. |
| Event Expenses | 33,254.17 | Swapped 33.25k tokens into $5,000 for sponsorship expenditures: $2,785 LATAM event sponsorship $387,75 event expenses 1.633 NEXT event expenses |
| KOL | 44,883.31 | Swapped 44.88k into $7,000 for KOL: $7,750 Korea KOL |
| KOL | 50,000 | Korean KOL FireAnt, requested by Khalil |
| X.com | $58 | $8 X.com Premium sub Remainder: $1,018.75 |
| Remaining NEXT | 1,287 | |
| Total | 719,424.68 |
A total of 566.598 tokens were approved for spending on compensating Community Administrators and Moderators as well as incentivizing KOLs and sponsoring events. This target was exceeded because of price fluctuations and the need to extend the engagement beyond July 2024 as a result of transitioning operations to Everclear. This outcome was accounted for in the original proposal by the added buffer.
The following details the engagement extension beyond July 2024:
In total, 1,287 CLEAR tokens and 1,018.75 USDC remain in the multi-signature wallet. In general, leftover funds will automatically be applied toward the CLEAR quarter. Should the DAO reject the proposal, all remaining tokens will be returned to the DAO.
The last proposal defined various KPIs to measure the overall impact of Community Leaders. In the following, we will evaluate if these KPIs were met and provide reasoning if they have not been met. As a result of the rebranding, we had to engage in different activities than originally planned which resulted in some KPIs not being met.
Moderation / Content Creator Lead
We expect to hire a Content Creator to help create original educational content with more regularity and reliability, intended to be posted on the EverclearIntern account, Blog and Academy sites.
In line with the expected growth of the Everclear protocol, we take into account the addition of 3-4 new moderators/content creators for the calculation of the base compensation.
Calculations assume an average token price of $0.043. The ask is that the Everclear DAO covers the funding below:
| Item | Funding (CLEAR) | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Base Compensation | 1,815,000 | Bi-annually base compensation available for CAs & Mods. |
| Buffer | 725,000 | Buffer for adjustments based on price fluctuations. |
| Community Treasury | 700,000 | Incentivized payment purse for educational content and its distribution, projects and events |
| Retroactive Payout | 120,000 | Compensation for missing days for Mods and Admins while funds ran out |
| Total Ask | 3,360,000 | For 1st semester of 2025 |
The monthly compensation breaks down to:
Fixed compensation will be revisited every month and adjusted as necessary.
Additionally, the Buffer and Community Treasury funds may be used to cover Community Leadership operational expenses (such as software licenses).
On the first day of each month, we will calculate the tokens to be distributed, using the average closing price of the token from the previous 7 days, as listed on Coingecko.
This proposal requests a budget of 3,360,000 tokens for the first half of 2025.
