Proposal - NFT Holders - Managing Unminted NFTs

Voting ended about 2 years agoSucceeded

Frame 414.png

Context:

The Genesis mint concluded with the minting of NFTs up to ID 2757. However, 3D NFTs from ID 2758 to 4300 remain un-minted, accounting for a total of 1543 Genesis NFTs. Additionally, NFTs from 4301 to 4444 have been pre-minted for the Orivium treasury. This vote is conducted to let our community decide the fate of the pending NFTs ranging from ID 2758 to 4300.

The challenge:

In our commitment to decentralization and secure ownership, the smart contract was carefully designed to shield investors from vulnerabilities and potential abuses by the contract owner (Orivium). While prioritizing investor safety, we inadvertently limited our control over the minting process, which posed challenges in the context of an incomplete mint. This DAO was established to empower the community to vote and determine the future of this collection.

Voting Rights:

Each 2D NFT owned grants 1 vote. Each 3D NFT owned grants 3 votes.

The Orivium DAO has three options to consider:

  1. Mint and Vote in 3 Months: The developers mint the remaining NFTs and securely store them in a multisig wallet, pending a DAO vote in 3 months to decide their fate.
  2. Burn the Rest: The developers mint the remaining NFTs and then permanently burn them.
  3. Do Nothing: Leave the smart contract open for on-chain minting at the original price of 0.07 ETH.

Impact Analysis

Option 1 - Mint and Vote in 3 Months:

If chosen, the team will conduct another vote in 3 months regarding the 1543 NFTs stored in the multisig wallet. Any transactions from the multisig wallet require confirmation from 3 out of 5 owners, or a DAO vote. This option would list treasury.orivium.eth as owning 1687 NFTs (1543 + 144) on OpenSea (cost: $10k gas fees). Learn more about our multisig wallet here.

Option 2 - Burn the Rest:

This choice leads to the minting and permanent destruction of the remaining 1543 NFTs, making them irretrievable. Gas fees of up to $10k paid from Orivium funds (cost: $10k gas fees).

Option 3 - Do Nothing:

Keeping the status quo allows experienced users to mint the remaining NFTs from the smart contract. This could potentially increase the NFT circulation if the floor price exceeds 0.07.
