Proposal synths Ticker / Names

Voting ended about 4 years agoSucceeded

With our newfound partner SpiritSwap, we want to take the time to revisit an Old topic to improve our brand recognition, naming our synthetics.

Until now, we used this: Name: Bitcoin Short DEUS Synthetic Ticker: dBTC-S

The "d" in dBTC could someone interpret as "DEUS synthetic" or "derivative."

The -S is the short indicator, but we think adopting something more could be better.

As a comparison, Synthetix is using this: https://etherscan.io/token/0xd6014ea05bde904448b743833ddf07c3c7837481 Name Long: Bitcoin Synth Ticker: sBTC Name Short: Bitcoin iSynth Ticker: iBTC

"s" in sBTC stands for synthetix, or synth. "i" in iBTC stands for inversed synths, meaning a Short version of it.

For example, FTX has something like this: https://etherscan.io/tx/0x4bb6b5529234caf380d574ab3ee32f336324471989f69fa4b89f56912a685031 Name: FTX: 3X Long Bitcoin Token Ticker: BULL

You see, it is essential to keep the Ticker clean. It's better not to use any "-" in the Ticker.

We should not decide this ourselves but use the community's voice as an indicator.

So we are putting the options up to vote.

So now to the options.

Option 1 Name: Bitcoin DEUS synth / Bitcoin DEUS inversed synth Ticker: dBTC / iBTC

We should have DEUS here in the name. If we use "inverse," "iBTC," people could confuse DEUS "iBTC" with synthetix "iBTC."

—————

Option 2

Name: Bitcoin synth / Bitcoin reverse synth Ticker: dBTC / rBTC

Another version could be calling it "reverse" instead of "inversed."

—————

Option 3

name: Bitcoin Long symbol: dBTC

name: Bitcoin Short symbol: dBTC

—————

Option 4

name: dBitcoin symbol: BTC-L

name: dBitcoin symbol: BTC-S
